Five hidden gems to visit in Muncie

Muncie has more to offer than just fast-food chains and department stores. The city has made its downtown and surrounding areas a great place to explore and try new things. While every city might have a Walmart and a Taco Bell, not every city has the following places that make Muncie what it is: home.

Vocal members of Muncie community gather at city courthouse for International Transgender Day of Visibility rally

Nearly 100 people, such as those in the trans community, as well as allies and supporters including political figures such as State Representative Sue Errington, gathered at the courthouse in downtown Muncie at 5 p.m. March 31 for a rally to bring attention to International Transgender Day of Visibility.

POLICE BRUTALITY PROTEST

As a member of the Party of Socialism and Liberation in Muncie, Indiana, Mark Elliott gathered with around a dozen other people, held a sign and stood outside of the City Council building in the “Unite Against Police Brutality” protest Feb. 5. The two most prevalent signs at the protest read “Justice for Tyre Nichols. Jail Killer Cops!” and “The people demand: End Police Terror.”
