Muncie has more to offer than just fast-food chains and department stores. The city has made its downtown and surrounding areas a great place to explore and try new things. While every city might have a Walmart and a Taco Bell, not every city has the following places that make Muncie what it is: home.
March 7-11, seven members of Daily News Sports traveled to Cleveland to cover Ball State Men's and Women's Basketball in the MAC Tournament. After their trip, the seven wanted to take time to reflect on their opportunity to not only cover these games and more, but also their experience traveling together.
Sept. 1, Ball State Daily News News Editor Kyle Smedley, Sports Editor Daniel Kehn, Visual and Photo Editor Amber Pietz and Associate Photo Editor Jacy Bradley traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee to cover Ball State Football's contest against the University of Tennessee, in which the Cardinals fell 59-10.
The David Owsley Museum of Art played host to the annual Art in Bloom event May 14-15.
Delta High School, in Muncie, Indiana, had its prom May 14.
Throughout each day, I tried my hand at quick media coverage via Twitter and had updates on what the Cardinals were doing at each of the events. While this type of coverage was an adjustment for me as a student journalist, it was also extremely rewarding.
