‘Life is Strange 2: Episode 3’ is a low point for DONTNOD’s ‘Life is Strange’ universe. Interesting new characters and a handful of good moments fail to make up for the dull gameplay, flaws in worldbuilding, and frustrating choices.
'The Umbrella Academy' is a fantastic new show from Netflix that sets a precedent of emotional honesty and heart that has been previously lacking in the superhero genre.
'Life is Strange 2: Episode 2' is a beautiful continuation of Sean and Daniel’s story. The brothers’ relationships with each other and with other characters in their world are fleshed out very well, but major technical issues take the player out of the story.
As a huge fan of Starkid Productions, I anxiously anticipated the YouTube release of their newest show, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, for months. I was honestly prepared to be disappointed; after their last show, Firebringer, I wasn’t expecting much. However, this show exceeded my expectations and evoked the infectiously fun and campy feeling of earlier Starkid shows like A Very Potter Musical and Starship.
'Welcome to Marwen' is not worth seeing on any level. Impressive animation and strong actors cannot save the terrible script, unlikeable characters, and weird, regressive implications that the film makes.
