ChirpFest attracts large turnout to Village

The line to get into the first ever ChirpFest wrapped around the block Saturday night. The electronic dance music festival on North Dill Street attracted about 3,500 people, according to organizer Darius Norwood and partner Alex Smith.

Bike shop shares 150th birthday with Muncie

Monte Hitchcock visited what’s now called Kirk’s Bike Shop for the first time as a 9-year-old. Kirk’s has been around since 1865, the same year Muncie was founded. It’s changed names, locations and owners, but Muncie residents like Hitchcock have always been able to enjoy it.
