After a strong exhibition match at the Tom Wright opener last weekend, Ball State Track and Field showed out at the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by Iowa.
Grace Horizon is an organization located in Anderson, Indiana, whose mission is to help people who have been through violence, exploitation, sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Ball State, like Grace Horizons, has resources and people wanting to help.
Multiple Cardinals, especially freshman and sophomores, made new appearances during the road trip to the mitten state. Mainly first-year forward/midfielder Maddie Summit, first-year midfielder Emma Van Hal and first-year forward Christine Ditizio. They each averaged about 15 minutes of playing time.
The first win of the season for Ball State Field Hockey (1-0, 0-0) came Aug. 26 with a 2-1 win over Saint Francis University (0-1, 0-0). Being the first win of the season, it was also the first win for new head coach Caitlin Walsh.
