Ball State diving was able to defeat IUPUI in both the men’s and women’s 3-meter dive in a friendly at the IUPUI Natatorium. The Jaguars took both the men’s and women’s one-meter dive to tie with the Cardinals.

Ball State's Student Government Association (SGA) had its first meeting of the spring 2022 semester Jan. 19. Four new senator applicants were voted on in the meeting. The applicants were Ozzie Kazarian, Trent McKenzie, Clarrisa Carrigan and Shelby Alexander.
Ball State Men's Basketball traveled to Toledo and lost 83-70 for its third consecutive loss against Mid-American Conference opponents. The young Cardinals have been tested early on in conference play, as they have gone against three top teams in the MAC.

Freshman center Payton Sparks recorded his third consecutive double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Sparks said he is more concerned about helping Ball State win than his individual performance.

Ball State's 42nd annual Unity Week celebration is kicking off in January this year, beginning with the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The week will welcome more in-person gatherings than last year, including the signature Unity March, and will end with the Jan. 22 Beneficence Conference.

Ball State Track and Field is spending part of their Martin Luther King Jr. weekend in Lexington at the University of Kentucky’s Jim Green Invitational.
Freshman Ally Becki played a career-high 37 minutes and recorded her first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. She added seven assists and finished 2-of-2 from the 3-point line.
