Mike Martin, along with Christina Mann and Kory Gipson, are set to teach a 12-week “Impact X Class” starting September 13, a collaboration between Ball State University’s Entrepreneurship Center, the City of Muncie and the In Place Impact Muncie Initiative, hoping to help Muncie’s entrepreneurial and economic scene grow.

Sept. 3, 2022, Muncie OUTreach hosted its first Pride festival at Canan Commons Park in downtown Muncie, Indiana. The festival was held from 5-8 p.m. with many vendors lining the street and performers on stage.
Maxwell's Barber Shop has been in business for 62 years, putting the customer first all the while and planting deep roots in the community. Most recently, Maxwell's has begun giving free haircuts to law enforcement officers and raising funds to send gift cards to local agencies and departments.
Muncie, Indiana may offer many of the same restaurants as many mid-sized towns in Indiana would, however, that doesn’t mean they aren’t great options. Whether these restaurants are on Ball State’s campus or within just a few miles, you’ll find that there are plenty of places to grab a bite in Funcie.
Though it didn’t go exactly to plan, Fire Up DWNTWN took over Walnut Street and the rest of downtown Muncie, Indiana, August 6, 2022. Hot air balloons still briefly took the skies, local businesses set up shop under tents, food trucks lined the street and countless other events ran from 1-10 p.m., prompting Muncie’s community to show out in full form.
The first Thursday of every month, Muncie Community Events holds an event in DWNTWN Muncie titled, “First Thursday. First Thursday gives local artists a chance to highlight their work to the community by allowing guests to walk through a gallery of their artwork.

SMEDLEY: After living in Muncie for 19 years, my appreciation for the town that raised me has grown into a full-fledged adoration for not only Muncie but a newfound respect for Ball State University.
