Dance benefit concert commemorates professor's son

  On Dec. 22, 2009, Ball State University dance professor Susan Koper lost her son Dylan Heinztelman, 13, in a car crash as the family was driving from Muncie. On Sunday, the Student Dance Association is hosting Dancing for Dylan, a benefit concert to celebrate the life of Dylan and provide support for Koper and her family.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals find themselves in pickle after loss to lowly Toledo

The first four seeds in the MAC Tournament earn the important first-round bye. The first two seeds go to the West and East Division champions and the next two seeds are the next best conference teams based on MAC records. Seeds five through 12 must play a first-round MAC Tournament game at campus sites before advancing to quarterfinal play in Cleveland against seeds one through four.

PARADOX OF A PLAIDED SWEATER: McQueen's death leaves hole in fashion world

Known for sewing a provocative quote into lining of a suit for the Prince of Wales, Alexander McQueen was the rebellious British designer who made a significant impact on fashion history. However, his time was cut short when he was found dead on Feb. 11 in his apartment in London. McQueen committed suicide by hanging himself.

Ball State is more than halfway through its regular season, and the wear and tear of the sport has started to take its toll on the gymnasts. Coach Nadalie Walsh said she may rest some gymnasts so they are in peak shape come the MAC Championships.

With the win, the team not only equals its win total from last season (five), but heads into the second half of the season with momentum, which coach Amy Behrman said could be instrumental to the team's future success.
