'Red Dead Redemption' returns, trailer teased

by Cailin Reedy Rockstar Games this morning officially confirmed development on Red Dead Redemption 2. The official announcement came after years of Internet speculation and two days of Rockstar releasing Red Dead-related images on Twitter. In July, Rockstar made Red Dead Redemption backwards compatible with the Xbox One. And last week Red Dead Revolver, the game that started the franchise, was re-released on PlayStation 4. The game’s website also promises “a brand new online multiplayer experience.” An online mode similar to GTA Online seems likely after Take-Two Interactive Software, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has secured the domain name for Red Dead Online. The official trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. The game is set for a Fall 2017 release, and is confirmed for Xbox One and PS4.
