Air Jam 2012 forms will be accepted Friday

09/13/12 1:05 p.m.

For student organizations that want to participate in Air Jam, forms will be accepted beginning at 4 a.m. Friday at the Alumni Association's office in the Alumni Center.

Air Jam, the annual lip-synching competition, is at 9 p.m. Oct. 11 at John R. Emens Auditorium. There are three categories for organizations to compete in: greek, residence halls and independent. For each category there will be a winner. In addition, an overall winner and a crowd favorite award are also given. Groups will be awarded points if they fit the homecoming theme, "Play Your Cards Right!" in the act.

Forms can be printed out from the Alumni Associations homecoming events website.

The office where forms are being accepted is located on the second floor, first office on the right. Forms can be turned in until 4 p.m. Thursday, but only the first 20 teams to turn in their information will be allowed to participate. The seven teams after that will be alternates.

Songs are also given on a first come, first serve basis. Participants will have 2.5 to 4 minutes to be on stage.

There is a $40 non-refundable entry fee for each team. Alternate teams will not be reimbursed. For a team to compete, there must be a minimum of five people and a maximum of 20.

After the competition, the 2012 homecoming king and queen and their courts will be crowned.
