WOMEN'S TENNIS: IPFW shuts out Ball State

Cardinals face Oakland in first home match today

The Ball State women's tennis team returned home from Fort Wayne after being defeated by IPFW 7-0 on Saturday.

This is the Cardinals' second time to be swept 7-0 this season. The Indiana Hoosiers swept the Cardinals in the second match of the year.

Ball State earned one win in the doubles portion of the match but failed to secure any others. Lauren Pickrel and Sarah Hebble defeated Raquel Vescovi 8-3.

Despite losing all of the points, three of the six matches came down to the final set for Ball State. In crunch time, IPFW was too much to overcome.

Ball State will compete against Oakland in their first home match of the season today. This is the Cardinals' "Think Pink" match, in which they will have several different opportunities to support breast cancer awareness. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
