Ball State University will travel to Illinois State University in 2013, with a return game in 2014.
The Cardinals have not played the Redbirds since 1993 and own an 11-5 lead in the all-time series.
Ball State has not traveled to a Football Championship Subdivision school since 1991, when it defeated Indiana State University 14-10.
Dates for the games have not been released yet.
