Hazelbaker named to two All-American teams

Less than a week after being drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the fourth round of the Major League draft, Ball State University center fielder Jeremy Hazelbaker has added three more accolades to his résumé. Baseball America named Hazelbaker a Third Team All-American on Monday. He was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast Region First Team and the ABCA/Rawlings All-American Second Team on Wednesday.

Hazelbaker is the 13th All-American in program history. He batted .429 and set the Cardinals' single season on-base percentage record with a .550 mark.

Ohio University outfielder Marc Krauss, the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year, was the only other MAC player honored on either list. Krauss was named to the First Team by both lists.

Hazelbaker is the first Cardinal to make an All-American team since Brad Miller in 2006 and the first to make a Baseball America team since Brad Snyder was a first team selection in 2003.

Hazelbaker will have until August 15 to either sign with Boston or return to Ball State for his senior season.
