FOOTBALL: Ball State punter named to Athlon All-American team

Chris Miller, a sophomore punter for the Ball State University football team, was named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-America First-Team. Miller was also honored as The Sporting News All-Mid-American Conference Preseason selection and was selected as the 11th-best punter in the nation by the magazine.

CollegeFootballNews.com and FoxSports.com also selected Miller as their All-MAC First Team Preseason punter.

Senior linebacker Brad Seiss and senior defensive back Erik Keys were named to the Second Team by the publication. Quarterback Joey Lynch was selected as the 20th best overall player in the MAC and Keys was rated 30th by CollegeFootballNews.com and FoxSports.com

Miller was an All-MAC First Team choice in 2005 after leading the league with a 43.8 yards per punt average. Last season he named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association and College Football News.
