Indiana defeats Kentucky at Delaware County Fairgrounds

The whistle blows. Skates screech on the floor. Two players with stars on their helmets attempt to push through the opposing team, ready to burst their way through a human-made wall. Shoulders shove, players use the back of their bodies to block aggressively, as one starred player forces their way past the others and lunges forward with momentum around the circle that acts as a field.

Ball State Women’s basketball team wins a “rock fight” against IUPUI

“We're a big game on their schedule,” head coach Brady Sallee said. “I mean, you know, an hour up the road, they want every bit of this and the chance to beat us and believe me when I tell you they’d enjoy winning if they do. Our kids had to make this a big game on our schedule that might be a little bit harder but that's not I'm not being disrespectful it's just a little bit different.” A Rock fight. What head coach Brady Sallee told his players before the game, and in the end, he was right.

Four Takeaways from Ball State's 61-54 victory over IUPUI

On Dec. 8, Ball State Women's Basketball faced in-state school IUPUI. It was apparent in the first quarter that both teams had issues shooting the ball, and this proved to be a big part of the contest at Worthen Arena. In the end, the Cardinals defeated the visiting Jaguars 61-54. Even with the victory, the game was one that was filled with mistakes.

BREAKING: AP: WNBA star Griner freed in swap for Russian arms dealer Bout

Russia freed WNBA star Brittney Griner on Thursday in a dramatic prisoner exchange, as the U.S. released notorious Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout but failed to win freedom for another American, Paul Whelan, who has been jailed for nearly four years. The swap, at a time of heightened tensions over Ukraine, achieved a top goal for President Joe Biden but carried a heavy price.

Defense creates offense as Ball State downs Saint Louis at home

“How many times did you see two or three white jerseys [Ball State] crash in the air,” head coach Brady Sallee said. “Not on the floor, in the air, going after rebounds. That is a team that cares.” Sallee was not wrong, the Ball State Women’s basketball team was crashing in the air with each other, diving on the ground, and going to get every rebound possible. It was a significant factor in the Cardinals' win over Saint Louis 85-51.
