The Ball State softball team opened a three-game home weekend series with Western Kentucky with two losses on Saturday. The Cardinals lost game one 4-2 and the second game 6-2 to the Hilltoppers.
Ball State scored three runs in the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie and defeat Bowling Green 5-2 and earn the three-game sweep. The Cardinals improved to 15-7 (3-0) for the season.
After winning game one of the three-game series, the Ball State baseball team defeated Bowling Green in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader 6-1.
