We're back witches, with another magical episode of the Coven Podcast. This week, we're looking at the issues surrounding Channel Awesome. From sexual harassment, rape scripts, mismanagement, and non-apologies for all this, it seems to be one of YouTube's many sinking ships.
When student newsrooms lack editorial independence, they cannot properly inform their campus communities.
This week on Remixed we are discussing Nicki Minaj and her new song (also how much we love her), ZAYN and how we feel about him and thoughts on his music, and Bebe Rexha's new songs. All of this and more on this week's episode of Remixed.
“Wrath” provides a greatly satisfying ending to the season despite a few hiccups. Characters completely change who they are with little to no reasoning and it is ultimately a glorified Deus ex machina that saves the day. Despite any issues, “Wrath” ends on a high note that leads to a promising future of the show.
There were no duds at Frog Baby Film Festival 2018. From top to bottom, the lineup of short films was full of clever and enjoyable submissions in a wide range of genres and styles. The cowboy westerns, action and horror films, and dystopian comedies made it impossible to know what to expect next, and that’s not even to mention the categories for documentaries and music videos. The only thing these films had in common was that they all showcased the undeniable talent of Ball State’s own home-brewed filmmaking community.
We associate music with cultures, genders, time periods and so much more.
Overall, the episode greatly improved in terms of pacing and development from the first episode of the season. Not only were new heroes shown off, but the series has created quite a build-up for the training at the summer camp. This episode has created a perfect set-up for viewers to anticipate action.
If you’re looking for a juicy piece of cinema to hold you over until the summer movie season starts up, 'Rampage' isn’t for you. However, if you’re a fan of things like the 'Sharknado' franchise or enjoy watching bad movies, it’s not a bad pick. It’s cheesy, it’s almost pulpy, and a perfect entry in the endless series of movies featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in a jungle wearing what seems to be the only shirt he owns. Wait for the home release, though.
Overall, the album was not completely bad, just very mainstream sounding. If the listener is a die-hard fan, especially of their early 2000’s music, they may really enjoy some of these songs such as “Walk on Water” or “Rescue Me”. Though these songs sound like a reminiscent mainstream evolution of that, basically it as if they took the foundation of the songs, kept it, and changed the words. Great songs that stand out on this album are “Great Wide Open” and “Love is Madness” featuring Halsey. These represent either Leto’s strong vocal talents, strong features, or great instrumentals.
Unlike many rock artists of her time, Lucy Dacus does not raise the roof or inspire any dance parties. However, her live show is anything but timid. At her first-ever Indianapolis concert, she supported the aptly named album ‘Historian’ with songs that told well-documented stories in creative new ways. The subtly epic qualities of her music were perfectly suited to the homely atmosphere of the Hi-Fi and the eager attentiveness of the crowd.
This week on Remixed we are discussing the ever popular Drake and Cardi B's newest album, "Invasion of Privacy". Listen to our thoughts on the newest music and much more on this week's episode of Remixed.
On this week's episode of How It's Played we are discussing "Ready Player One." The movie, VR, Nintendo, technology in general, and the future of gaming will be talked about on this week's episode of How It's Played.
“Worth” was definitely worth watching, which is surprising to say. Several plot points that had been left open for several episodes were all wrapped up in a nice little bow this week. Despite that, it’s evident that the writers were in a rush to clear up attention for the season finale. Go ahead and watch this one.
If you like small, self-contained movies, then 'A Quiet Place' is the perfect film for you. The movie shines with its use of sound, and how unsettling it can be. If you can look past underdeveloped relationships and lack of context, this movie will thrill you and keep you in suspense. It’s a nice break from some other dialogue heavy movies out there.
We all have the power, to a certain extent, to make choices that we can be proud of and to live meaningful and fulfilled lives. Changing my major has made all the difference.
This week on Remixed we are discussing The Weeknd's "My Dear Melancholy", Cardi B's "Be Careful", and Tyler, The Creator's "OKRA". All of this and more on this episode of Remixed.
We're back witches, with another magical episode of the Coven Podcast. This week, we're looking at the toxic fandoms. Can a show be ruined by its fandom? The shows themselves are fairly unproblematic on their own... but then in comes the fandom...
Each year, The Daily News evaluates and assigns a grade to the outgoing Student Government Association (SGA) slate.
“Game Start” devoted a lot of time to fan-favorite characters, but included too many flashbacks for the episode to be considered anything but a filler. It teases at what is coming up in the season, but doesn’t live up to the hype of this highly anticipated release.
