The Cardinals (7-5, 2-2) took down Purdue Fort Wayne (10-4, 1-3) in a five-set (25-20, 24-26, 25-22, 19-25, 15-8) battle Saturday in the first meeting of the two teams since last year’s Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) championship match.
The NFL, founded in 1920, has a history of racism, whether blatant or subtle. Perhaps the most prevalent case has involved Black quarterbacks and the question of whether a Black man was capable of playing the position. Black quarterbacks have faced racism in the form of stereotypes such as the perception that they lack intelligence, dependability, composure, character or charisma and are unable to be “counted on” to lead their team. The reason this year's Super Bowl was such a big deal is that ever since the NFL began, Black quarterbacks have been disrespected and told they needed to stop playing the position they worked so hard for their entire athletic life because they couldn’t succeed.
The Wapahani Raiders have now defeated the Yorktown Tigers twice this season. The first time was in the county championship game. The second was Saturday’s regular season match at Yorktown high school where the Raiders won 54-46.

The Ball State Men’s tennis team capped off a successful week for the team on Friday, defeating the Xavier Musketeers 6-1. Coming into the match, the Cardinals (6-3) were fresh off road wins against Niagara on Sunday, and Purdue on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Musketeers (6-3) had won six of their last seven, including a 4-3 win over Cleveland State, a team Ball State lost to 1-6.
Ball State Softball’s first two seasons under head coach Lacy Schurr’s direction have been two different stories. In her first season, the COVID-19 season, the Cardinals went 37-18. The team broke a handful of program records including the most Mid-American Conference (MAC) wins (31) and the longest MAC winning streak with 16 games. Ball State also broke multiple statistical records including the best batting average (.329) and on-base percentage (.415) for a single season.

Despite numerous accomplishments heading into his 18th season as head coach of Ball State Baseball, reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) Coach of the Year Rich Maloney has never made an NCAA Regionals appearance at Ball State. The last time the Cardinals achieved that mark was in 2006 when Maloney was manning the Wolverines at the University of Michigan in the same tournament.

This debate was the third of three debates and allowed for the nominees to get to speak to the public and explain their running platform points.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A white supremacist who killed 10 Black people at a Buffalo supermarket was sentenced to life in prison without parole Wednesday after relatives of his victims confronted him with pain and rage caused by his racist attack.
Last Tuesday, Muncie Central senior guard Daniel Harris sank a game-winning shot against Pendleton Heights (6-15, 0-7 HHC). Last night, he did it again as he sank a 3-pointer to defeat the Yorktown Tigers 41-38. Following the game, one Muncie Central fan said that the team should only play on Tuesdays.
