More students vote for Homecoming royalty than for SGA elections

More students have voted for Homecoming royalty than the Student Government Association executive board in the past nine out of 10 years. In 2015, nearly 700 more students voted for royalty than SGA. THE ISSUE: WHY IT MATTERS: Veterans

WASHINGTON (AP) —There are an estimated 21.6 million veterans in the United States. Among them, nearly 9 million are enrolled in health care provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. About 4.3 million veterans get disability compensation from the VA and nearly 900,000 have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Student Government Association is using the $3.25 million grant from John “Papa John” Schnatter and the Charles Koch Foundation as a model for three future grants the association is considering. The three bills are a review of the Koch/Schnatter grant, the stance of Ball State students against influences on their freedom of academia and a grant review process for the university. Charles Koch Foundation // Photo Courtesy

Koch grant brings questions at other universities

Faculty members at the University of Kentucky are hesitant to accept the terms of the center because of a stipulation in the contract that allows Koch and Schnatter to revoke the grant at 30 days notice.
