New stop signs aim for safety

Two new stop signs have been added to West Petty Road since the beginning of the month, and drivers and pedestrians alike are taking notice.

EA goes eSports

EA Games (Electronic Arts) has announced an eSports division of its company. As EA Competitive Gaming Division (CGD), the company plans on setting up tournaments on games, such as the recent Star Wars Battlefront, as well as its virtual sporting games. CEO Andrew Wilson told gamesindustry.biz about the new initiative: "As the latest step in our journey to put our players first, this group will enable global eSports competitions in our biggest franchises including FIFA, Madden NFL, Battlefield and more... CGD will seek to build a best-in-class program to centralize our efforts with new events, as well as the infrastructure to bring you the world's preeminent EA competitive experiences." Heading up the CGD is Peter Moore, previously the chief financial officer of EA.

After 'Afterbirth'

With the release of Afterbirth, the newest Binding of Isaac DLC/solo game, as well as the Augmented Reality Gaming (ARG) that accompanied it, Afterbirth + has been officially announced (stylized as Afterbirth †). Men's basketball 7 wins matches last seasons total

The Cardinals went 7-23 last year, with their seventh and final win coming in game no. 13 of the season. This year, Ball State is 7-2, riding a six-game win streak and preparing for a tough matchup against the 5-4 Pepperdine Waves. “We’re 7-2 and we feel good about it,” head coach James Whitford said.

Women's basketball wins fourth consecutive game

Ball State women's basketball (6-2) won its fourth consecutive game and earned its first true road win of the season against Lipscomb University (3-8) in Nashville, Tennessee, 72-60. Senior guard Nathalie Fontaine recorded her second straight double-double -- she led the Cardinals with both 28 points and 14 rebounds. Senior forward Shelby Merder also provided a spark off the bench with 10 points, all of which she scored the second half. The Cardinals outscored the Bison in the paint, 30-14, and outrebounded Lipscomb, 44-23. Ball State, however, turned the ball over a season-high 26 times.



A part of Ball State Unversity's award winning College of Communication, Information, and Media, Byte is a student-run, multimedia coalition operating out of Ball State University's Unified Media Lab. Though mostly oriented toward Telecommunication and Journalism majors, Byte draws in students studying all sorts of disciplines ranging from Creative Writing to Computer Science and eveything in between.
