SGA introduces two amendments in hybrid meeting

Ball State’s Student Government Association (SGA) introduced two amendments Jan. 26 during a pajama-themed meeting. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the meeting was hybrid with in-person and virtual attendance options. Twenty-one participants attended via Zoom.


Muncie Afghan Refugee Resettlement Committee (MARRC) members are dedicated to twelve different aspects of welcoming Afghan refugees to Muncie, including assistance with finances, education, living essentials and furnishings, as well as employment assistance and fundraising. MARRC shares progress assisting Afghan refugees in Muncie

In 1979, Bibi Bahrami was 13. The Soviet Union had just invaded Afghanistan, and Bahrami was forced to flee from her home country. Her family settled in a refugee camp in Pakistan, where she served those around her by providing medical attention, assisting the elderly and completing everyday chores.

Former Los Angeles Lakers guard and five-time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant and seven others died Jan. 26, 2020, in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, CA. In the wake of the two-year anniversary of his death, our sports staff gave their thoughts on remembering Bryant.

Miryne Thomas, Payton Sparks lead Ball State passed Miami (Ohio)

 A few plays later, he dives to the ground for a loose ball, and while Ball State didn’t get the ball, it showcased what Thomas and Ball State Men’s Basketball were doing all game in their 81-64 win over the Redhawks: diving for loose balls and rebounding the ball.

The new year and a new semester have begun, and many college students are looking for new ways to start it off strong. Some may try out new studying tools they discovered or make changes in their routine. However, for other students, these changes might only stay in place for a couple of weeks before being cast away to the island of forgotten semester goals. If you’re looking for ways to start off your semester strong that you may actually stick with, consider these five tips you may have not considered  — each involving your five senses.
