McKinley Avenue lane closure scheduled

The South bound lane of McKinley Ave. between Riverside Ave. and Neely Ave will be closed for repairs beginning at 7:00 AM on Monday, August 1, 2022, and will be reopened by 7:00 AM on Monday, August 8, 2022. Riverside Ave. and Neely Ave. will remain open during this time.

AP: UN health agency chief declares monkeypox a global emergency

The chief of the World Health Organization said the expanding monkeypox outbreak in more than 70 countries is an "extraordinary" situation that now qualifies as a global emergency, a declaration Saturday that could spur further investment in treating the once-rare disease and worsen the scramble for scarce vaccines.
