MUNCIE, IN (Cardinal WX) - A 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit the quiet town of Cushing, Oklahoma on Sunday, November 6th.

This earthquake struck about two miles west from Cushing. Katie Wisely, a reporter for KJRH in Tulsa, OK and a Westfield, IN native witnessed the damage first hand. She was sent out to report on the earthquake and said you can never be prepared to witness this type of event. Wisely also stated that you can read the USGS reports and read about it on Twitter, but you never know until you get out there.

Wisely additionally discussed the damage that people are facing. The Red Cross is still helping people even four days after the earthquake happened. Wisely said, "People are used to it and unfortunately they are used it." Multiple earthquakes have struck Oklahoma in the past few months, some just shakes that are not recorded. With this earthquake being almost a week again Wisely stated, "These people still can't get into their home. They can't see what has been damaged. They can't see what they have lost." Being prepared for natural disasters, like earthquakes is important. For now, Cushing, OK continues to recover.
