Worthen Arena will be full of more than 40 potential employers for a job fair Wednesday.

Congressman Luke Messer, sponsor of the job fair, said in a statement that Indiana’s unemployment rate of less than 6 percent is still too high, prompting the need for the 18th annual Sixth Congressional District Job Fair.

“In this struggling economy, too many hardworking Hoosiers are having a difficult time finding good-paying jobs,” Messer said in the statement.

The opportunity to meet the regional employers is free and does not require pre-registration.

The job fair is open for local veterans only from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday. Afterward, the public can join until 4:30 p.m.

Employers include the Youth Opportunity Center, the university, IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and the Woodlands.

Ball State and Work One: Eastern Indiana also sponsor the job fair.
