A Muncie couple was arrested for growing and possession of marijuana Wednesday, according to Indiana State Police.
Rita Williams, 57, and Stephen P. Shelton, 61, -- both of 4108 W. 400 South -- were growing marijuana at their residence.
The activity was visually confirmed by state troopers from a helicopter.
They were charged with possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance -- both class "D" felonies, and cultivating less than 30 grams of marijuana, a class "A" misdemeanor.
Senior Trooper Ron Halbert Jr., the marijuana eradication coordinator for the Redkey District, received information from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office that lead to the arrest, according to a press release.
A trooper received voluntary consent from Williams to search the property.
Williams and Shelton were taken to the Delaware County Jail and held on $12,500 bond.
