Summary: Steep Canyon Rangers have gained recognition well beyond bluegrass, earning a reputation as some of today’s most influential Americana songwriters. The three-time GRAMMY nominees have released 14 studio albums, collaborated on three more with actor and banjoist Steve Martin, been inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, and performed on major stages nationwide. Their 2013 album Nobody Knows You won the GRAMMY for Best Bluegrass Album, with Rare Bird (2012) and North Carolina Songbook (2020) also earning nominations. They’ll perform as part of the Muncie Three Trails Music Series, a non-profit partnership between MDDP, MuncieArts, and series founder Rick Zeigler, dedicated to bringing nationally acclaimed artists to Canan Commons, Muncie’s premier outdoor venue, for free community concerts.
