WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Cardinals win season-high 2nd straight match

For the second straight match, the Ball State University women's volleyball team came away with a victory, matching its longest win streak of the season.

The Cardinals defeated the University of Akron on the road 3-2 (25-30, 30-27, 23-30, 30-25, 16-14). They improved to 5-22 and 4-10 in the Mid-American Conference with the victory.

Junior Christine Kennedy had a career-high 19 kills in the match to lead the Cardinals. Sophomore Julie Breivogel and freshman Abby LaVigne also had double-digit kills for Ball State with 16 and 10 respectively.

The Cardinals had 12 aces on their serves. Senior Angie Parrell led the way with five serving aces, followed by freshman Alyssa Rio with four. Kennedy had the remaining three aces for the Cardinals.

Ball State will look to win for a season-high three straight games this Friday at Northern Illinois University.
