MEN'S TENNIS: Team ends fall season with few wins at tourney

The men's tennis team didn't win an A-flight or doubles match as they competed in the Texas Invitational last weekend, the team's last match of the fall season.

Senior Jarrod Epkey and junior Jose Perdomo made it the furthest of any Cardinal on Saturday. Epkey lost to University of Arizona's Peter Zimmer (6-2, 6-4) and Perdomo dropped his match to Boise State University's Steve Roberson (6-3, 7-5) in the round of 32.

Doubles did not fare any better for Ball State University. The duos of freshman Shawn Bussert and sophomore Shaun Berryman, junior Joe Valley and senior Danny Vidal, as well as Epkey and Rodriquez all were defeated by their first round opponents.

Junior Jorge Rodriquez and Vidal proved to be more successful in the consolation draw. The two teammates made it to the finals and will play to determine the winner at a later date.
