MAC: Kent State coach suspended for week

A Kent State University softball team assistant coach was suspended for a week on Wednesday.

Coach Radara McHugh received a one-week suspension with pay because of violations to the university's athletic department's code of expected behavior, according to a Kent State press release.

McHugh is entering her fourth season as the Golden Flashes' pitching coach. Since she began coaching at Kent State, the team has twice broken the school record for strikeouts in a season.

The suspension was not NCAA related, according to the press release.
