Members of the Ball State University Student Government Association had a few things to discuss Wednesday for their first meeting of the semester.
SGA President Betsy Mills said it was typical to have a short agenda for the first meeting, but there was good attendance and the members seemed ready to work.
"I can't wait to see where SGA goes, and you're a part of it," she said to the members. "We're here, we're ready to work and it's going to be exciting."
Shawn Meier, chairman of the governmental affairs and student awareness committee, said it will take some time to get back into the swing of things, just like it does with school. He also said there was a lack of members, but his committee was going to try and advertise so students could get involved in SGA.
Although few things were on the agenda, some of the things committee chairmen mentioned they wanted to work on for the upcoming year were working on getting dead week implemented for the Spring or Fall 2008 semester, fixing the walk sign at the corner of Riverside Avenue and New York Avenue, extending dining hours and shortening the lines at the Atrium.
