Jim Molinari, a former head coach at Bradley and Northern Illinois universities has joined Billy Taylor's coaching staff at Ball State University.
Molinari was most recently interim head coach at the University of Minnesota following the resignation of Dan Monson.
Molinari is a defensive specialist. In 13 years as a head coach his teams finished in the nation's top 24 defensive teams 10 times.
He spent two seasons with the Huskies from 1989 to 1991 where he won the 1991 Mid-Continent Conference Coach of the Year. He then spent 11 years at Bradley, where he led the team to the 1996 NCAA Tournament.
He is the second coach hired by Billy Taylor to replace Ronny Thompson's staff, who all left the program following Thompson's departure.
Bob Simmons followed Taylor from Lehigh University to Ball State.
There is still one remaining vacancy in Taylor's coaching staff. The team is also looking for new student managers.
