In early 2023, Ball State Badminton Club was just getting off the ground and now, to start the new school year, the club and its founder have focused on doing what they can to make the club known.
With Stanley’s return looming and sectionals around the corner, his eyes are on the prize.
Coming from a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) school – Indiana Wesleyan – Seiffert shared her excitement for this new opportunity to succeed at a new school.
“I really enjoy being here because I get to meet new people who love the sport, since nobody’s in my major here, a break from school and a break from daily life,” explains member Emily Howell.
“We’re definitely quicker as a team, so I think that’s going to help us in March. If we just keep playing together, we’ll do great things and hopefully win a sectional title,” senior guard, Blake Jones said.
"Club sports are important because it's a good source of fun, a way to find friends, and then overall just a great place to do something you love," freshman Mateo Scharosch said.
“We focused a lot on the mental prep for what a sectional feels like, what that environment feels like and what it takes to win in that environment.” Delta head coach, Kurt Griffis said.
Ball State football going throughout this week, equipping themselves with what they need to defeat Georgia Southern.
Finishing at 20-3, Ball State was able to claim the best record for their team in 20 years.
With the Esports program being founded in 2020 and the Esports Center opening in 2021, the Cardinals have been able to find their success very quickly.
