Arrest made in Marathon station robbery

A 25-year-old man who described himself as a regular customer of a westside Muncie convenience store robbed the business early Thursday morning because he was facing eviction and needed rent money, police said.

'Finding Dory' to be shown at Scheumann Stadium

Following the soccer game against Buffalo Sept. 23, Ball State fans will just keep swimming to Scheumann Stadium for a screening of Finding Dory. Shawn Sullivan, assistant athletics director for marketing and fan engagement, said that the athletics department has been looking to tie in more promotions such as this to some of the sports that don’t get as much attention.

Hitler, Porsche and Southern California. This may sound like a list of random nouns, but in actuality each one is directly responsible for the existence of the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Dune. In 1934, Adolf Hitler commissioned Ferdinand Porsche to build a people’s car or “Volkswagen” in German. While the design was finalized in 1938, production didn’t really take off until after World War Two.

Ball State women's volleyball kicks off MAC play

Ball State women's volleyball turns its attention to Mid-American Conference play this weekend after finishing its non-conference schedule with a 4-10 record. Head coach Kelli Miller would like to continue to see her team improve--the Cardinals have won three of their last four after an 0-9 start to the season. "I think we’re starting to get some momentum and develop some chemistry with our players," she said. "We’re not necessarily just viewing it as wins and losses, but are trying to keep the same goals and process so we can keep getting better every day.” Miller said sophomore outside hitter Brooklyn Goodsel and freshman libero Kate Avila are two players that have remained consistent. “I need them to continue to play well," Miller said. "The biggest thing we’ve improved in the past couple of weeks is our consistency.

Summer-like temperatures stick around for a few more days, but cooler temps are on the way.


Ball State was ranked 176th in the nation and fourth best in the Mid-American Conference by the U.S. News & World Report, naming it an "A-Plus School for B Students." Ball State ranked “A-Plus School for B Students”

U.S. News & World Report ranked Ball State 176th in the nation and fourth best in the Mid-American Conference along with deeming it an "A-Plus School for B Students," and The Princeton Review's annual college ratings ranked Ball State in the Top 50 Green Colleges and named it aBest Midwestern College.
