Because of injuries to key members of the Ball State University women's tennis team and the overall health of the team, coach Kathy Bull decided the team would not compete in the scheduled Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fall Regional this weekend. Bull made the decision earlier this week not to attend the tournament.
Despite not winning an event in his last competition, a member of the Ball State University's men's swimming and diving team won a weekly conference award. Junior Austin Laska was named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday. Laska finished second in the 50-yard freestyle at the Indiana Intercollegiates meet during the weekend with a time of 21.
