University Democrats offers transportation to the polls

A van sponsored by the University Democrats will be available to drive students to the Delaware County Building to cast early ballots. The van started driving people to the polls on Oct. 21 and will continue throughout the end of next week, Mike Uehlein, president of the University Democrats, said.

With three games remaining in the regular season, the Ball State University soccer team is looking to clinch a spot in the Mid-American Conference tournament and a possible first round home game. The Cardinals (8-7-1, 4-3-1 MAC) are tied for fifth place in the conference entering the weekend.

The Ball State University field hockey team will travel to Ohio University and Kent State University this weekend to try to capitalize on its momentum from defeating Missouri State University on Sunday. Ball State University's women's studies program invited surgical oncologist Robert Goulet to speak on campus to recognize National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Julee Rosser, interim director of the program, said the speech is at 5:15 p.m. in AJ 175 and will focus on breast cancer awareness and prevention.

The Ball State University women's volleyball team travels to Bowling Green State University and Miami University this weekend for two matches against perennial Mid-American Conference East Division favorites. Coach Dave Boos said he considers this weekend crucial for his Cardinals team that is 9-14 overall and 4-4 in MAC play after Tuesday's 3-0 sweep of IPFW.
