The Ball State University women's volleyball team travels north tonight to play Eastern Michigan University before playing Central Michigan University on Saturday in the team's final regular season road trip of the year. A former Ball State University student will spend six months in jail after she was sentenced Thursday in a beating case from fall 2007. Amanda Polson, 20, received a one-year sentence, six months of which will be on probation after she pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal recklessness resulting in serious bodily injury, a Class D felony.
University Police Department issued a "friendly reminder" to the Ball State University community to keep an eye on personal belongings Wednesday night. UPD sent an e-mail warning that four laptop computers were stolen in the past five days. Director of Public Safety Gene Burton said the department noticed the thefts happened in the same manner, resulting from people leaving the computers unattended in dining halls, study rooms and unlocked dorm rooms.
