The Ball State Track & Field and Cross Country teams have been highlighted for its success at conference and national levels. Both programs have held a distinguished honor that is known all over the nation with the team and individuals through out the years performing at an elite level.
Ball State Men’s Golf began its fall qualifying for the upcoming season over the weekend. Having placed second in the Mid-American Conference Championships the past two seasons, this year’s team features a mix of fresh faces and returners.

Coming off a road loss to Saint Francis, Ball State field hockey (0-2, 0-0 MAC) was back home to take on in-state rival Indiana (1-1, 0-0 Big 10). Two quick goals by the Hoosiers left the Cardinals stunned handing them at 2-0 loss.
Looking to start off the weekend strong, Ball State Women’s Volleyball (1-0, 0-0 MAC) snagged a 3-2 win against the South Alabama (0-1, 0-0 Sun Belt) in the first match of the Dayton Invitational. In a tight match, the Cardinals were able to pull away from the Jaguars in the fifth game to take the match, 3-2.
Looking to stay undefeated in the early season, Ball State soccer (1-1, 0-0 MAC) traveled to Richmond, KY to take on Eastern Kentucky (2-1, 0-0 OVC). An early goal by the Colonels would be the only score of the match as the Cardinals would fall, 1-0.
Kicking off their 2018 season, Ball State Field Hockey (0-1, 0-0 MAC) took on Saint Francis (1-0, 0-0 A10) in Oxford, OH. After falling into a 3-0 hole early, the Cardinals were unable to recover a fell to the Red Flash, 4-0.
The women’s swimming and diving program has been making waves at Lewellen Aquatic Center for 53 years.
Cardinal fans looking to attend the first home Ball State football game can enjoy a beer while sitting in the stands.
Starting off the season with a 2-1 win over Purdue Fort Wayne, Ball State Soccer (1-0, 0-0 MAC) is looking to continue their winning ways against Eastern Kentucky (1-1, 0-0 OVC).
“Our program continues to feel the pain of Zach’s loss,” Tyson Mathews said. “[It] heals slowly with time, but never vanishes.”
Ball State Women’s Golf kick’s off their run towards the MAC championships with a total switch from last season. The Cardinals welcome five freshman to the team this season, making up the bulk of the roster.

Ball State football is about a week away from its Aug. 30 home opener against Central Connecticut State. After a disappointing 2-10 (0-8 MAC) 2017 season, the Cardinals are itching to get back on the field to show the rest of the Mid-American Conference last year was not true Ball State football.
Originally started in 1974, the women's golf program took a hiatus starting in 1982, and was reintroduced in 2000.
