LotusFest to bring relaxation, wellness

LotusFest is a wellness fair which will be from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 4 at the Lotus Yoga Studio. All proceeds from the event will be donated to A Better Way, which provides a variety of services, including those for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

After graduating from Ball State in May with an English degree, Gus Goggin just became a business owner. On June 4, he opened Muncie's first Jack's Donuts chain.

MAC Medal of Excellence awarded to Alex Call, Shelby Merder

Each year, the Mid-American Conference awards two athletes, one male and one female, from the graduating classes of each of its member institutions the Medal of Excellence. This year, Ball State was represented by junior baseball player Alex Call and junior women's basketball player Shelby Merder.

Search "adult coloring books" on Amazon and you'll see 101 pages of results — with several books of the first several pages boasting a "best seller" badge. According to Forbes, coloring books targeted toward adults have existed since the 1960s, but in the last two years, sales have skyrocketed.

Cardinals knocked out of MAC Tournament

Ball State baseball (32-26, 15-9 MAC) finished on top of the Mid-American Conference West Division for the second time in three seasons, but was bounced from the MAC Tournament after dropping its first two games.

Majority of student-athletes finish semester with 3.0 GPA or higher

Student-athletes have to find the balance between the field and the classroom, and this spring 273 of Ball State's 411 student-athletes had a semester GPA of 3.0 or better, according to a ballstatesports.com press release. One hundred fifty-two student-athletes also qualified for the Dean's List with a 3.5 or better GPA, and 37 posted a perfect 4.0.

After 18 years of being "a no-kill shelter," Muncie’s Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) will be expanding in an effort to help more animals and their owners receive services and the care they need to live healthy lives. ARF is expanding to offer low-cost veterinary services through a new spin-off clinic called ARF’s PAW (promoting animal wellness), which is expected to open in late August.
