President Jo Ann Gora released her President's Perspective this morning commending University Police Department for how it handled the assault cases Wednesday morning and expressing her disappointment for part of the Ball State University student body.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — U.S. Rep. Mike Pence revved up about 730 people at the Indiana Republican state dinner Thursday night by urging them to help the party regain control of the U.S. House in November and the presidency in 2012.

BASEBALL: Ball State routs Bowling Green in series opener

Ball State (12-16) opened a three-game series at Bowling Green State University with a 12-6 victory Friday. The Cardinals beat reigning MAC Pitcher of the Year Brennan Smith (1-4) with a big offensive day. They had 18 hits and scored 12 runs, despite stranding 17 runners.

Chasing after danger

 In May 2008, two Ball State University students went out to Carroll County, Ind., on a chase. Using only a map, a weather radio and a weather scanner, Doyle McIntosh and Korey Klein were able to watch a tornado briefly touch ground. This is just one instance of the Ball State Storm Chase Team witnessing this severe weather phenomenon.

Theatre students to perform cabaret

Cabarets have been a staple of musical performance for almost 100 years. The idea of performance art hosted in intimate settings quickly spread all over the world and is still practiced today. On Saturday, the Ball State University Theatre and Dance Department will perform its own version with the second annual Cabaret a la Carte. The event was organized by Ball State's chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the National Honorary Theatre Society.

Circle K to host second annual Riley Benefit Show

Circle K International will be holding its second annual Riley Benefit Show at Ball State University from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center Ballroom. There will be seven bands performing, a silent art auction and desserts for $3. All proceeds will benefit Riley Hospital for Children. Circle K is a Kiwanis International collegiate program focused on community service. The Ball State chapter of Circle K has 30 members, and the diversity of the group has helped it branch out to bring the event together.

An unusual campus incident has spurred a debate about the merit of filing complaints to Ball State University Police. Three women were victimized in separate incidents, having their behinds grabbed by a passing bicyclist early Wednesday morning near the Amelia T. Wood Health Center. Two of the victims decided to file police reports.

Electronic sound waves bounce between the old and new for Fort Wayne-based band, Metavari.The music is layered between five keyboards and synthesizers that give the music a heavy electronic sound. The combination of older and new technology sets the band apart.
