Ten stages and fifty-nine eclectic acts grace Muncie Music Fest

Fifty-nine bands performed at the Muncie MusicFest on Saturday night. The acts were as varied as they were good. Some were local university students; others came from as far as Chicago. The three stages on the street sat just far enough away to keep sound from bleeding from act to act, but close enough that a change of pace is just a few steps away.

"Open Land" traveling show features Indiana art at Minnetrista

Detailed paintings depicting the land, architecture and produce of Indiana stand out against the baby blue walls. Pictures of tractors, desolate fields and rusted buildings hang between the paintings, adding a realistic touch to the shaded landscapes.

Muncie Music Fest hosted up-and-comers Fossil Generation and Deuce Funk Monsters

Concert attendees were greeted with the smell of local barbecue food vendors along with the sounds from local Midwest bands and artists as they entered the 2012 Muncie MusicFest on Saturday. The festival was held along the streets of downtown Muncie and took place from 5 to around 11 p.m., with some of the indoor venues, such as Doc's music hall and the Silo, hosting acts past midnight. The bill consisted of a diverse set of artists, ranging from all sorts of different genres.
