Tony Scott, director of such Hollywood hits as "Top Gun," "Days of Thunder" and "Beverly Hills Cop II," died Sunday after jumping from a towering suspension bridge spanning Los Angeles harbor and leaving behind several notes to loved ones, authorities said.

Ball State's year-old campaign to recruit students from New Jersey will bring just a handful of Garden State freshmen to the Muncie campus this year, but officials say they're laying the ground work for success in the future.

Muncie renovates downtown

While the city of Muncie is constantly finding ways to improve its image, it continues to explore and initiate programs with Muncie's future in mind. Recently, the Muncie city administration has been working together with members of the Muncie Redevelopment Commission and the streetscape commission to renovate downtown Muncie with a $1 million facade restoration and the addition of bike lanes.

The Paralympic Games, modeled after the Olympic games, highlight the athleticism of those with physical disabilities. Ball State professor Lawrence Judge is coaching two Paralympians for this year's games in London.
