Millennials volunteer, make difference in Muncie community

Rachel Johnson’s life revolves around helping others. The senior social work major volunteers at least nine hours a week: seven or eight at Cardinal Kitchen, two at a weekly program for Student Voluntary Services and perhaps a few more for her service sorority.

Desire to be different: Students embrace quirks

They ignore the status quo or walk around in costume, not seeming to care that they’re different than those around them. These students who choose not to conform to societal norms say they do it for a variety of reasons — because they feel like it, it garners attention or it boosts their confidence.


Ball State students participated in a protest for justice on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The protest was organized by the Black Student Association and Ball State Democrats. Students of all backgroudns and color participated in the protest by marching together with signs.
