The Cardinals (14-15, 6-10 MAC) failed to secure eighth place in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) with a 78-76 overtime loss against Western Michigan (11-18, 8-8 MAC). Ball State returns to action Tuesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. in the final home game of the season against Kent State.

Several people from Westminster showed up and claimed a corner in the arena, hanging a poster of support for the Cardinals. With the group in attendance, the Cardinals bounced back from a loss against the Toledo Rockets and came away with a 75-51 win over Akron.
