Shooting a 314 in the final round at the Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin, Ind. the Ball State University women's golf team finished in 14th place overall with a combined team score of 938 strokes. Despite a mediocre finish, coach Katherine Mowat was proud of her team's effort.

Presentation to teach students about Ball State rules, policies

Ball State University students who do not check their e-mail cannot use that as an excuse for missing appointments, but if they break school rules while helping a friend who needs medical attention, they can get away punishment free. These, as well as other rules and regulations students may not be aware of in the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities, will be discussed during the Student Code Awareness Week presentation "Decoding the Code.

University deals with drainage, sewage problems at apartments

Sewage and drainage issues that have plagued a playground area at Scheidler Apartments have been dealt with or are being taken care of, Ball State University officials said. The apartments had an issue with a backed-up sewage facility several weeks ago, Sally Freistat, assistant director of university apartments, said.

FOOTBALL: BSU running back Lewis out for season

Ball State University running back MiQuale Lewis will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a shoulder injury Saturday against the University at Buffalo, according to Ball State coach Brady Hoke. He suffered the injury on a 54-yard run late in the fourth quarter when he was tackled by Buffalo defensive back Ramon Guzman.

Radio station gives free O.A.R. tickets

Emens Auditorium is giving away 10 tickets for Sunday's O.A.R. concert in cooperation with WNOU 93.1 this week. Two tickets will be given away each day, one between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and one between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Emens is hoping the giveaway will promote the show outside of Muncie and attract concertgoers from Indianapolis, Emens director for marketing said.

However, the team suffered two hard losses to both Ohio University and Kent State University. FOOTBALL: Running game comes alive for BSU

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Ball State University offense came out on fire, rolling up 494 yards of offense as the Cardinals pounded the University at Buffalo, 55-25. Ball State [2-4, 2-1 Mid-American Conference] scored on its first six possessions, and Louis Johnson blocked a punt in the end zone for a touchdown as the Cardinals built a 45-3 lead.

SOCCER: Devastating weekend yields tough losses for BSU

The Ball State University soccer team entered last weekend with an eight-match winning streak. The Cardinals had also been unbeaten in their previous nine matches. However, after two disappointing losses to Central Michigan University and Eastern Michigan University, the streak is gone.
