BEWILDERED SOCIETY: Web shorthand can be found in children's books

WASHINGTON - "Step back! Doors closing," the automated voice commands as I step into the Metro subway car. OUR VIEW: Job search

The summer session has begun, and summer jobs are harder to find than some students might expect. Sure, people don't want to work on campus because the pay isn't the best in the world, but it's better than no job at all. The country's lousy economy keeps adults from getting jobs in the career of their choice, so students should be realistic about their job opportunities and not be naive about finding jobs off campus.
