Redesign of the Ball State Baseball Stadium may prove to be just another idea to land on the desk of Associate Athletic Director Pat Quinn, but it does offer hands-on experience for an independent study. Pub crawl attracts large crowd

St. Patrick's Day falling on a Tuesday did not stop students from celebrating in green flair and with green beer. Doc's on Dill assistant manager Katie Cambell said she was surprised by the bar's St. Patrick's Day turnout. "I couldn't believe how many Irish people were celebrating on a Tuesday after having a week off," Cambell said.

Student arrested on multiple felony charges

A Ball State University student remained in Delaware County Jail as of 4:30 p.m. today after Muncie police arrested him on suspicion of possession of a handgun by a dangerous felon, among other charges, jail officials said. James Cleo Robertson, 40, was arrested early Wednesday after Muncie police received a report from a complainant, who was unnamed in the police report, that someone had stolen a handgun and driven off in a white Cadillac Eldorado, according to police reports.

Deadline for fan bus extended

The deadline for the fan bus to Ball State University's women's basketball game on Sunday has been extended to Friday at 3 p.m. Associate Athletic Director Matt Wolfert said the total tickets sold at the previous deadline of 5 p.m. today was around 30. The minimum capacity requirement of 40 passengers has been disregarded so students who have already purchased tickets won't have to be refunded, he added.

Our fighting Cardinal football team's tremendous success put the athletics department in the spotlight for a good reason. Quite a change from recent years. Fraternity sponsors comedian despite canceled events week

Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity's canceled week of events won't stop the men from cracking smiles. Kappa Alpha Psi president Loren Ray said the fraternity will have Def Jam comedian Marcus Combs at 7 p.m. Friday in the Art Museum Rm. 217. The fraternity is co-sponsoring the free event with the Campus Activities Funding Board.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Top 12 wins this season for the No. 12 seed Cardinals

1) vs. Bowling Green in Mid-American Conference Championship Game Sunday: The first ever for the program, Ball State came into the game as a slight underdog to the Falcons, who have dominated the MAC in women's basketball during the past few seasons. Also, the win gave Ball State 25 wins on the season, the most ever for the program.

Ball State to be first university to work with interactive TV programs

Ball State University will be the first university in the U.S. to utilize a new software kit for interactive television. OCAP/EBIF Development Network (OEDN), an industry group made up of developers for interactive television, worked with Comcast Media Center and Ensenquence to make an Academic ITV Software Developer Kit program available to schools.

Student to work in N.Y.

After seven months of research and work, Marciel Greene, senior theater design and technology major, was invited to the American College and Theater Festival in April at the Kennedy Center in New York. Greene received recognition for her work on the lighting crew for the play "In the Blood," which was performed last fall.

Rembering lost culture

In honor of Yom Ha'Shoah, Holocaust Memorial Day, a Holocaust survivor and Monuments Man came to Ball State University Wednesday to help people remember the art and culture lost during Adolf Hitler's regime and share his story. Harry Ettinger spoke about his experience in the Monuments Men during and after World War II.

Ball State police arrest skateboarder

Ball State University police arrested a student on suspicion of resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct Tuesday after an officer said he warned the man to stop skateboarding, but the man ignored the order, police said. Delaware County Jail was holding Drake Turner, 21, on $3,500 bond as of Tuesday afternoon after police arrested him on the respective Class A and Class B misdemeanor charges.

The Ball State University softball team is hoping its opening home game tonight against Valparaiso University is one of record-setting proportions. Only one-third of the way through the season, junior college transfer Jen Reifschneider is one home run shy of tying the Ball State single-season record.
