MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Fifth game no longer worry for Cardinals

Coach Joel Walton could not have felt more relieved as he left the arena Saturday night. After three failed attempts last week, the Ball State University men's volleyball team won a decisive fifth game to beat an opponent. Finishing the match on a 7-2 run, Ball State defeated George Mason University 19-30, 32-30, 30-27, 28-30, 15-6 in Fairfax, Va.

Women's Week events to feature variety of topics

March is National Women's History Month, and in celebration of the experiences of women, the Ball State women's studies program is offering its 22nd Women's Week of events. Julee Rosser, interim director of the women's studies program, said the events "encourage more communication and connection.

Ball State sometimes admits felons

A conviction won't necessarily keep felons out of Ball State University classes, but administrators said there is no cause for concern. Ball State typically accepts yearly between eight and 16 students with prior felony convictions, David Fried, director of Student Rights and Community Standards, said Friday - two days after a non-traditional student with several previous convictions was arrested on multiple charges.

Students wanting to go see the Ball State University women's basketball team play Iowa State University on Tuesday can sign up for a fan bus. Rob Richards, director of Ball State ticket operations and customer service, said there are about 20 seats left on the first bus.

The weather and the Ball State University baseball team put on their Sunday best, and Ball State defeated the University of Akron 5-1 to win the first Mid-American Conference series of the season. The Cardinals took Friday's game 4-3 before losing on Saturday 10-8.
