Chicago teachers to strike after talks fail

CHICAGO - The Chicago Teachers Union announced Sunday night that it will go on strike Monday morning for the first time in 25 years after contract talks with the school district failed over issues including pay, benefits and job security.

The sun was out, and there was a calm breeze at Prairie Creek where about 15 students were enjoying the nice weather in canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and yard games for Outdoor Pursuits' Fun in the Sun.
