Apollo 11 landed on the moon 45 years ago on July 20, 1969.At Ball State, many faculty members remember the event well, along with hundreds of millions across the world. In fact, some of them might not be here if that event hadn’t happened.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING: Ball State has 3 swimmers recognized for academic success

Ball State swimmers Mallory Miles, Haley Richter and Bridgette Ruehl were recognized for their academic performances by receiving the 2014 Honorable Mention Scholar All-American Award."I am extremely proud of these three student-athletes for their hard work in the pool and classroom," Ball State head women's swimming and diving coach Kristy Castillo said in a statement.To qualify for the award swimmer and divers must hold a 3.5 or higher GPA and a “B” time standard, but did not qualify to compete in their respective national championshipThe Honorable Mention Scholar All-American Awards
