IndyCar fans remember Wilson with tributes at Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Fans of racing are remembering late IndyCar driver Justin Wilson who suffered from a head injury when a piece of debris struck him at Pocono Raceway. WTHR in Indianapolis reports (http://bit.ly/1WPJLD0) candles, flowers and British flags have been placed at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in remembrance of the British driver who lived in Colorado.

A look at Ball State's new helmet designs

The Cardinals will sport four new helmet designs this season in addition to the white and black helmets that debuted last season. Chrome white and chrome black helmets will be worn, as well as helmets featuring military and breast cancer support.

Official smoking area returns to campus

After two years of being a tobacco-free campus, Ball State has added a designated smoking area to the edge of campus, adjacent to Petty Road. Except for this small area, the campus will remain tobacco-free.

US stocks plunge in early trading after Chinese stock rout

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock markets plunged in early trading Monday following a big drop in Chinese stocks. The Dow Jones industrial average fell more than 1,000 points in early trading and the Standard & Poor's 500 index fell into correction territory, that's Wall Street jargon for a drop of 10 percent or more from a recent peak. Treasuries surged as investors bought less risky assets. Growing concerns about a slowdown in China had already shaken markets around the world on Friday, driving the U.S.
